Hi Everyone,

This listing will cover two weeks—  we will be back with more toward the end of the month.

Recovery College has a new course guide out for Fall/Winter 2019, there are copied at the CASS office, or you can check out http://www.recoverycollegecalgary.ca/ These courses focus on personal development and growth, and they are all free. 

Value Days for the upcoming Calgary Stampede:

  • July 4: Sneak a Peak- Entry is only $9 from 5-11pm
  • July 5: Parade Day – Entry is free from 11am-1:30pm
  • July 7: Family Day – Entry is free from 7:30-10:30am.
  • July 9: Community Day- Entry is only $2 from 10am-2pm, Free for seniors all day.
  • July 10: Kids Day- Free entry for kids and accompanying adults from 7-9am, $2 entry all day for kids under 12.

 

FREE:

Jul 8: Dementia Conversation Café @ Lukes’ Drug Mart (3407 26 Ave SW) 10am-Noon. This is a casual drop-in social event, open to anyone impacted by dementia.

Jul 11: YYC Ultimate Obstacles @ South Glenmore Park (24 St SW) 6-8pm. Open drop-in outdoor obstacle course, weather permitting.

Jul 12: Inglewood Night Market @ 9 Ave & 10 St SE. 5-11pm. Come out, enjoy the weather and meet new people wandering around Inglewood.

Jul 12-14: Calgary Turkish Festival @ Eau Claire Market (200 Barclay Parade SW) 11am-10pm. Admission is free, but food and activity coupons will cost $2 each.

Jul 14: Tails & Treasures @ University District (4410 University Dr NW) 1-5pm. This dog-friendly and dog-focused event will have live entertainment, a pet market, and pooch competitions running from 1-2pm. http://myuniversitydistrict.ca/dogpark/

Jul 14: Calgary Wind Symphony @ Riley Park (800 12 St NW) 1-4pm. Bring chairs/blankets/snacks and enjoy a casual symphony in the park

Jul 15: Fire Week @ Central Memorial Park (1221 2 St SW) 11:30am-1:30pm. Learn about fire safety and have fun with local firefighters

Jul 18: Jazz Battle @ Central Memorial Park (1221 2 St SW) 5-7pm. Two jazz bands will compete with each other over six rounds of improvised music, with Tim Tamashiro refereeing.

Jul 18: Disability Tax Credit & RDSP Info Session @ Momentum (#16, 2936 Radcliffe Dr SE) 10am-Noon. please register by calling Jordan at (403) 204-2692.

Jul 19-21: Fiestaval Latin Festival @ Olympic Plaza (228 8 Ave SE) 11am-10pm. Entertainment, vendors, and tons of fun.

Jul 19-21: Alberta Gem Show @ Best Western Village Park Inn (1804 Crowchild Trail NW)

Jul 20: Creekfest @ Bow Valley Ranch, Fish Creek Park (South end of Bow Bottom Tr SE).

Jul 20: Zero Waste Festival @ 656 Confluence Way, 11am-6pm. “an interactive festival focused on reducing waste and leading a low waste lifestyle”.

Jul 20: Festival of Chariots @ Shaw Millennium Park 2-5pm. Free vegetarian Feast, live music, performances, exhibits and vendors.

Jul 20: Food Truck Fiesta @ Evanston (115 Evanston Dr NW) 4-9pm. Family friendly games and activities, music, etc.

PAID:

Jul 9: Date night @ Studio Bell (850 4 St SE) Admission is only $10 from 5-8pm. You don’t have to have a date to take advantage of this low price admission.

Jul 12-14: Comic Fest @ Calaway Park (245033 Range Road 33) Dress like your favourite (family-friendly) superheroes, and check out the artist market.  https://www.calawaypark.com/calaway-comic-fest-for-kids/
