Hi Everyone,

Don`t forget that the Advisory Forum will be celebrating CASS` 30th Anniversary with Cake at the office tomorrow (October 10th) from 2-4pm! Everyone is welcome. The cakes are from a nut-free bakery, and there will be a vegan and a gluten free option available.

CASS has four family daypasses for the Military Museums of Calgary to give away. We also still have a few 2-for-1 admissions for the Calgary Tattoo and Arts Festival. Please contact the Resource Facilitator if you are interested in either of these.

The CASS winter holiday party will be at Crossroads Community Association again this year, on December 13, from 5-8pm. Oct 19 & 20: Ujamaa Grandma’s Bags, Babies and Beyond @ Marda Loop Community Association (3130 16 St SW). Fri 2-8pm, Sat 10am-3pm. Handmade items will be for sale in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Oct 20: Avenue’s Pop-up Market @ Inglewood Community Association (1740 24 Ave SE) 10am-4pm. The “best things to eat in Calgary” will be showcased at this market.


Oct 5- Nov 2: Calgary Ghost Tours @ Various Locations. Hear ghost stories from Calgary’s experts while wandering through Inglewood, Kensington or throughout downtown each Friday and Saturday Evening. Tickets start at $10.

Oct 5-31: Canmore Ghost Walks @ Good Earth Coffee House (718 8 St. Canmore, Ab) 7pm.  These walks run every Friday and Saturday leading up to Halloween, and on Oct 31. Tickets are $20, and for another $10 you can get food and warm drinks from Good Earth. has all of the info.

Oct 12-31: Grim Manor @ Winsport (88 Olympic Road SW) 7pm. There are three haunted attractions, and live entertainment. Admission is $20. For more info, go to

Oct 18: It takes a Team- Developing Unity in Crisis @ Hudson (200 8 Ave SW) 5:30-8:30pm. Learn more from a retired fire chief about what it took to evacuate Fort McMurray, and the ways in which the community has come together through the process since. Admission is $10.

Oct 19-21: Bearspaw Fall & Christmas Market @ Bearspaw lifestyle Centre (253220 Bearspaw Road) Fri 10am-8pm, Sat 10am-5pm. More than 90 vendors selling handmade items. Admission is $3.

Oct 20: The Fibre Shindig @ Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association (1320 5 Ave NW) 10am-5pm. Admission is $5. “Knitting, Spinning, Felting, Fibre Artists and more.”

Oct 20: Terror Challenge Showcase @ Globe Cinema (617 8 Ave SW) 9:30pm. Tickets start at $10. Watch the final product of a 48-hour local film challenge.

Oct 20: The Sound of Music Movie Singalong @ McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca St SE) Doors @ 6:30 pm, event starts at 7pm. Admission is $10. Tickets are available through

Oct 20: Starfleet Confidential @ The Alexandria Centre (922 9Ave SE) 8pm. Tickets are $10 at the door. This Star Trek Parody will be performed by the Kinkonauts, Calgary’s most excellent improvisational troupe.

Oct 20-21 Calgary Reptile Expo @ Midsun Community Centre (50 Midpark Rise SE) Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm. Admission is $7. Learn more about reptile and taking care of scaly pets.

Oct 21: Calgary Music Collectors Show @ Acadia Recreation Complex (240 90 Ave SE) 11am-4pm. Admission is $5 to search, buy, and talk about music with other collectors.
